Situation in hospitals with coronavirus remains stable

There are 13 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in hospitals, according to new HSE figures issued overnight. Six of these patients are in intensive care units, with four on ventilators.

There are also 138 suspected cases in hospitals, six of whom are in intensive care, with two on ventilators. Figures on new virus infection rates are expected to fluctuate over the coming days, but overall, the situation in hospitals with coronavirus remains stable.

Last night, health officials reported 92 new cases and no new deaths. It was the highest number of new cases since last Saturday, when 178 cases were reported, mostly linked to outbreaks in counties Kildare, Laois and Offaly.
