Wigan, was forced to close on Friday (September 4) after being found to be in breach of the rules. It comes after officers from Greater Manchester Police visited the venue, in Northumberland Street, on Saturday, August 29.The closure will be reviewed within seven days, and a decision made as to whether or not to permit the premises to re-open.Councillor Paul Prescott, Wigan Council's cabinet member for planning and environmental services, said: “The latest closure acts a stern reminder to bars and pubs across the borough that Wigan Council won’t hesitate to close venues which show a complete disregard to protecting the public.“While restrictions in the borough eased last week, this is not a time to get complacent and we must all continue to.
