After turning 96 on September 13th, she's still going strong. "I'm happy," Yaworski said.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are searching for a day worker who they say stole a truck and crashed into four people, including three children, outside a Philadelphia auto repair store earlier this month. Investigators say the suspect, identified by police as a man around 50-years-old name Dre, was picked up with two other day workers near the intersection of 18th and Ontario streets on Sept. 2. The three men drove to an auto repair shop on the 5600 block of Vine Street where police say two of the men exited the vehicle, leaving the suspect asleep in the backseat. A short time later, the suspect awoke and drove the truck over a parking block into a crosswalk where a man and three children were passing. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES: Shaheed Richberg, 43, and three children between the ages of 5 and 1 were injured in the hit-and-run crash. Richberg remains in the hospital in stable condition and the Divinity McFarland, 5, is still in critical condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Kelly of several child pornography and sex abuse charges in his hometown of Chicago, delivering another legal blow to a singer who used to be one of the biggest R&B stars in the world.Kelly, 55, was found guilty on three counts of child pornography and three counts of child enticement.But the jury acquitted him on a fourth pornography count as well as a conspiracy to obstruct justice charge accusing him fixing his state child pornography trial in 2008.

PHILADELPHIA - An arson suspect who police believe hoarded hundreds of one-gallon jugs full of gasoline inside an abandoned West Philadelphia home was taken into custody on Wednesday. After more than a month on the run, investigators say 37-year-old Darren Arnold was spotted in the area of 10th street and Oregon Avenue Wednesday morning. The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested 37-year-old Darren Arnold on charges of arson and related offenses linked to "several incidents" on the 100 block of North 59th Street in August.The investigation began on August 1 when officers were called to an abandoned property on North 59th street for complaints of a strong gas smell coming from inside.RELATED HEADLINESAuthorities say 154 one-gallon milk jugs full of gasoline were found inside the property and a hazmat team was called. Neighboring homes were evacuated as crews removed the gas. Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that the home had previously caught fire in March and had since been abandoned. Hours later, firefighters were called back to the property to extinguish a morning fire.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania House committee has voted to hold Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner in contempt. The House Select Committee on Restoring Law and Order says committee members unanimously recommended that Krasner be held in contempt due to his failure to comply with subpoenas issued by the committee last month."This is not a decision we, as a committee, came to lightly," Representative Torren Ecker said. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in Philadelphia released new video showing the deadly shooting of a teenage girl who police say was killed while walking a dog with another person over the weekend.Investigators say 17-year-old Teryn Johnson was on the 5300 block of Harrock Street just before 9 p.m. Sunday night when she was shot in the chest by and unknown gunman. Responding officers from the Philadelphia Police Department drove Johnson to Temple University Hospital where she died a short time later, according to investigators. Video shared by police on Wednesday shows the suspected shooter and a getaway car stalk the victim's path before carrying out the deadly shooting. RELATED COVERAGEInvestigators say the shooter and at least one other person inside a dark-colored Dodge Challenger waited on a street corner for at least two minutes while the victim and her friend past. The gunman, dressed in dark clothing wearing a nearly full head covering, eventually exits the car and hides behind a parked van after the victims walks by. The multi-angle montage of surveillance footage shows Challenger pickup the shooter and drive a short distance down the street where he exits the vehicle and fires at least three times. New video shows the moments before police say a 17-year-old girl was shot to death while out walking a dog with a friend.

LOS ANGELES - A 15-year-old student at Bernstein High School is dead and another teen was hospitalized after overdosing on pills they purchased at a park in Hollywood, officials said.Investigators believe the pills were laced with fentanyl.The parents of the teen girls became concerned after their daughters did not return home from school and reported them missing Tuesday evening. The stepfather of one of the girls began driving around in search of his stepdaughter and kept circling back to her school. Around 8 p.m., he found her collapsed in the courtyard of the school campus located near the intersection of North Wilton Place and Fountain Avenue.In a fragile state, she managed to tell her stepfather she took half a pill she bought at Lexington Park. "She was very ill.

PHILADELPHIA - Members of the Philadelphia City Council announced plans Wednesday to introduce legislation aimed at protecting access to abortions inside city limits — including a bill proponents said would be one of the nation's strongest privacy protection laws.The measures would bar the voluntary sharing of information about reproductive health choices for the purpose of prosecution or civil lawsuits and update the city's antidiscrimination laws to include protections for reproductive health decisions. It also would create a right of patients and providers to counter-sue if they are sued by out-of-state residents under one of several laws seeking to prevent people from traveling across state lines to seek abortions.The legislation will be introduced at Thursday’s City Council meeting.A resolution calls on the city to bar city resources from being used to cooperate with out-of-state lawsuits, prosecutions or investigations related to abortions, to work with providers to increase safety at clinics, to create an abortion access task force and to support allocating additional city funds to help offset the costs of abortions and reproductive care among other requests."We want to affirm our municipal rights at this time to be able to establish new protections for individuals, for people here in this city and to be able to send that message broadly across the state and across the country," said At-Large Councilmember Helen Gym.Gym said the supporters expected pushback, but she said the bills would hopefully set some legal precedent and "advance new territory" in protecting reproductive health decisions.The proposed local legislation comes after the U.S.

TRENTON - New Jersey leaders are looking to tweak a ban on plastic bags after shoppers in the Garden State have started accumulating reusable bags. Since the legislation went into effect in May, shoppers who have ordered groceries online or forgot to bring bags on trips to their local market have amassed reusable bags. "I have a large collection of bags all shapes all sizes all colors, all stores," said Sherry Morris of Edgewater Park.Less than four months later, lawmakers are considering tweaks to the bill that would allow for some concessions to the strict ban on single-use bags. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOne proposed option for people who order their groceries online is returning the bags, so the store can sanitize and reuse them again. Senator Bob Smith, a democrat who represent parts of Middlesex and Somerset, called it a "glitch" in the legislation aimed towards reducing a common source of litter. "If you drive around New Jersey youre not seeing these flying plastic bags all over the streets and in the air, beaches or blocking sewers," Smith said.Another idea being proposed is to follow the lead of the big box chains and only use cardboard boxes or nothing at all.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead on Tuesday afternoon.Authorities say that at around 3:39 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of North Pine Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police say they located a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where officials say he succumbed to his injuries.Wilmington police are actively investigating this incident, and they are encouraging anyone with information to contact Detective Derek Haines at 302-576-3656.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma County inmate found dead in his jail cell over the weekend was a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the county alleging that in 2019, he and other inmates were tortured by jail employees who forced them to repeatedly listen to the children’s song "Baby Shark" for hours.John Basco, 48, was found unresponsive in his cell early Sunday morning, Oklahoma County Detention Center officials said in a news release. He was pronounced dead after jail workers began lifesaving efforts, they said.

WEST WHITELAND TWP, Pa. - A Pennsylvania nanny is accused of using a parent's credit card to rack up thousands in charges, including a shopping spree at several high-end retail stores. Jessica Gadebusch, 20, was arrested and charged with third-degree felony after authorities say the parents of two noticed nearly $8k in erroneous charges on their card. Anne Carlin, an Exton resident, said she hired Gadebusch when their daycare was suddenly closed by the state due to allegations made against the staff. "We went on Facebook to the babysitting nanny groups and we saw Jessica’s post that she was available immediately," Carlin said.MORE LOCAL HEADLINESDuring Gadebusch's two-week stint as the Carlin's nanny she was given their credit card to take their kids to the zoo and returned the card after the trip. The Carlin's then noticed thousands of hundreds of dollars in charges at Sephora and LuluLemon, as well as an AirBnb transaction. Investigators with the West Whiteland Township Police Department later found the Gadebusch added the Carlin's card to her Apple Wallet to make the purchases."We have to warn our residents that this type of thing may happen," Detective Scott Pezick said. "we allow people in our house, nannys, cleaners, home healthcare workers, and sometimes it’s just an opportunity for people to make bad decisions."Anne Carlin and her husband allegedly had thousands charged to their credit card by their nannny.
