Actor Gene Dynarski has sadly died at the age of 86. The star was best known for his roles in Star Trek and Seinfeld, in which he played Izzy Mandelbaum Jr, the son of Lloyd Bridges’ character, as well as Stephen Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
He passed away earlier this year, on 27 February, at a rehabilitation centre in Studio City, with playwright Ernest Kearney announcing the sad news, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor’s cause of death is currently unknown. Gene’s debut on-screen role came in 1965, in the ABC medical drama Ben Casey.
Following that, he had an impressive career spanning decades, from his work on Batman (1966) and Earthquake (1974) to The A-Team and All The President’s Men.
