Steven Naismith insists Celtic are the only Scottish club financially strong enough to cope with the coronavirus crisis. The Hearts captain has accepted a 50 per cent Tynecastle paycut in a bid to save jobs among the non-playing staff and is adamant owner Ann Budge had no option but to take the approach. Now Naismith has predicted many others will follow suit in a bid to stave off redundancies. But unlike Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack, the striker feels only Celtic may be immune to the cash crisis hitting clubs.Naismith said: “Ann isn’t looking for sympathy but it’s been misconstrued why she’s just doing this.“Every club in Scotland outwith maybe Celtic will come into hard times here.“It’s inevitable it’ll happen.
