Stevie Wonder has revealed he was planning on collaborating with Bill Withers, before he died. Music legend Bill, best known for his hits Lean On Me and Ain’t No Sunshine, died aged 81 from heart complications last week.

Speaking to Billboard, Stevie said that he’d been in ‘constant contact’ with Bill up until his death and the soul singers had been planning to play music together. ‘We’d been texting each other,’ Stevie explained. ‘He texted me in January telling me how much he appreciated me being there for him, then in February he texted about playing together.’ Stevie, 69, continued: ‘I responded that it would be my pleasure, my joy.
