A Brit couple stranded in India were forced to fork out £930 for a mercy flight after the country went into coronavirus lockdown on March 22.
Jeremy and Melanie Weeks, 59, are due to fly out of India today after booking themselves on a repatriation flight to Heathrow, London, via Helsinki.
The holidaymakers claim the emergency flight left them out of £930 and have been "surviving on crisps and crackers" ever since the lockdown.
Cabbie Jeremy and wife Melanie arrived in the popular resort of Palolem on March 8th and should have left last Saturday. He told StokeOnTrentLive there was "no warning" before the lockdown and "there was no chance to get any supplies".
