Scottish Government’s stingy support is driving them towards danger.A £60,000 funding package for phoneline and information services has been labelled “derisory”, with prostitutes claiming they need hard cash to pay rent and buy food.While others have been able to claim Government help in lockdown, many street workers have to choose between being penniless or risking their lives having sex with reckless strangers who tap them up online.The meagre help announced last month is thought to involve offering advice on how to get benefits and where to locate food banks.Glasgow University academic Dr Anastacia Ryan, founder of the Umbrella Lane support group for sex workers, has organised hardship grants for sex workers.She claims her organisation.
