The victims were then taken to a local hospital where they were treated and later died. Police and other law enforcement officials established a perimeter around the home where the suspect was barricaded.

WEATHERFORD, Texas - A 12-year-old Weatherford girl and her father have been hospitalized with gun shot wounds after sheriff's deputies say the girl plotted for weeks with a friend to murder their families.Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier says the deputies were called to a shooting with a 12-year-old girl lying in the street with a gun shot wound to the head, her 38-year-old father was found in the house shot in the abdomen.Investigators believe the girl shot her father, fled the scene and then shot herself.Both the girl and her father were flown to the hospital.

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda had separate interactions with the members of the Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) and the students of the IAAN School of Mass Communication recently.The formal interaction with the members of the Indian Women’s Press Corps was held at the organization’s headquarters in New Delhi. A large number of Delhi-based journalists, mostly women journalists, representing prominent media outlets in India attended this interaction.The members of the IWPC posed several questions to High Commissioner Moragoda, ranging from Sri Lanka’s present economic and political developments to Indo-Sri Lanka relations at large. The session was moderated by the President of the IWPC, Shobhna Jain. Several leading newspapers and news sites in India carried the contents of this interaction in their editions yesterday (22).Founded in 1994, the IWPC is one of the premier journalists’ organizations in India and has a membership of about 900 women journalists.Earlier in the day, High Commissioner Moragoda interacted with the students of the ‘IAAN School of Mass Communication’ on Indo-Lanka relations in line with India’s 75th Independence anniversary. The interaction was held at the recently opened High Commissioners’ Gallery at the Sri Lanka High Commission.High Commissioner Moragoda engaged with the students during an informal question and answer session followed by a formal interview that focused on Indo-Lanka relations.The students of the IAAN School of Mass Communication interviewed the High Commissioner for a special audio-visual book titled ‘Foreign Relations’ to mark the 75th anniversary of the Independence of  India.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect in connection with two sexual assaults on the Broad Street Line in South Philadelphia.Officials say the assaults happened about 15 minutes apart at 2100 South Broad Street and 1600 South Broad Street on September 19th, just before midnight.The man is described as about 5’7" with a thin build, probably in his early 20s. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with the band Queen on the back of the sweatshirt.

Joseph Devitis, 51, has been arrested and charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed a horse and injured a teenage girl.  (Franklin Township Police Department)FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The driver accused of hitting a teenage girl riding her horse in Franklin Township last Thursday has been arrested and charged, police say. The teen, 14, was riding horseback on Monroeville Road when they were struck by a car, per police. PREVIOUS: Horse killed, South Jersey girl injured by fleeing car in hit-and-run, police sayThe horse died on the scene and the girl was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials. Police say they developed information that the suspect's car was at a residence on Buck Road near the border of Salem and Gloucester Counties. After executing a search warrant on the property Tuesday, detectives located the suspected vehicle hidden in a wooded area and they collected DNA evidence. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAuthorities say Joseph Devitis, 51, of Salem County admitted that he was the driver of the vehicle on Wednesday. Devitis has been charged with assault by auto, endangering an injured victim, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, animal cruelty and related offenses.

GLASSBORO, N.J. - Public schools in Glassboro have been put under a shelter-in-place order, police say. According to Glassboro Police Department, the school buildings are in a "precautionary shelter in place" as an investigation is ongoing. Police have not said if there is a threat to the safety of schools or released any further information at this time. This is a developing story.
