The trial of Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been adjourned until at least Tuesday next week after one of the jurors tested positive for Covid.
The remaining eleven jurors were brought back into Chester Crown Court this morning (Wednesday) and were informed by Judge Steven Everett, the Recorder of Chester, that the case was being delayed after one of their number had tested positive.
The judge told the remaining jurors they would be contacted on Monday to inform them whether the trial would resume as anticipated on Monday, and then sent them home.
Judge Everett also told the jurors that one of their number had tested positive for Covid during the morning and 'doesn't feel very well'.
