Portland woman is still in a complete state of shock after the stranger she found in her son's bed on Monday was released from jail.Kelsey Smith, who lives in Northeast Portland, said that when she heard the dogs barking, she checked the front door as contractors were supposed to work on an accessible bathroom for her son, according to FOX 12.After following the dogs to her son's bathroom, she saw that someone was under a pile of clothes. WASHINGTON - Friday marks nine years since a deadly shooting rampage at the Washington Navy Yard sent shockwaves through the nation's capital.The shooting that left 12 people dead happened on the morning of September 16, 2013 inside a building at the complex. PHILADELPHIA - A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Philadelphia parks and rec employee, the Philadelphia District Attorney announced. According to authorities, Tiffany Fletcher, 40, was preparing to welcome students to the Mill Creek Recreation Center after school when she got stuck in the crossfire of a shootout between two groups on Friday. PREVIOUS: Philadelphia rec center worker shot and killed, 14-year-old in custody, police sayPolice released new details about the investigation in Da Larry Krasner's weekly gun crimes press conference. Officials say 16th District officers heard gunshots in the area of the 4700 block of Brown Street Friday afternoon, around 1:30 p.m.Responding officers saw people running and officers chased and arrested a 14-year-old man on Perry Street, Commissioner Danielle Outlaw announced. A detective later recovered a 9mm ghost gun loaded with one round in the chamber and one round in the magazine from a trash can on Perry Street, according to officials. As the teen was arrested, other officers located Fletcher suffering from gunshot wounds to both sides of her body on Brown Street. Outlaw says after being shot, Fletcher ran to a nearby business, where they tried to tend to her wounds. Fletcher was transported to Presbyterian Hospital, where she died from her injuries, authorities said. Police say she was outside of the recreation center when she was caught in the crossfire between the 14-year-old and at least one other person.

NEWARK, Del. - Two women in New Castle County are in critical condition after a reported domestic dispute and officer-involved shooting.Officials say the incident happened Friday night, around 8:30, at the Hunters Crossing Apartment complex on Fairway Road, in Newark.Officers responded to a call regarding a domestic incident at the complex. When they arrived, they found a woman shooting a firearm.Police discharged their weapons, hitting her in the torso.Police then found a 26-year-old woman nearby who had been shot several times by the suspect.Both women are listed in critical condition at Christiana Hospital.An investigation is ongoing.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department graduated 32 new 911 dispatchers Friday, easing its shortage in the vital position, but the department needs still more workers.On a wall in the dispatch room, the number of calls waiting are tallied and the waiting time is counted. Police leaders say their goal is to pick up a 9-1-1 call within 10 seconds and do that 90 percent of the time.But, shortages in the dispatch room have resulted in some police delays.MORE HEADLINES:According to numbers obtained by FOX 29, last year, of the more than 2.4 million calls, more than 7,000 callers waited at least a minute-and-a-half for someone to pick-up, likely slowing police response.The police department is budgeted for 352 dispatchers.
