Online retailers' discounts diminish amid pandemic
NEW DELHI : Have you noticed the discounts that online retailers offered on essentials are diminishing? As more people are buying essentials online amid the covid-19 pandemic, online retailers have started selling more items at the maximum retail price (MRP), according to the State Bank of India's (SBI) research note on the recent inflation numbers. There are now fewer discounts as there is a supply and demand mismatch. "Interestingly, before the covid-19 (pandemic), the prices of e-commerce outlets were much lower than the MRP.

COVID-19 is showing promising antibody results in hundreds of participants in a Phase 2 trial and could be ready for a final authorization request this summer.Nathalie Landry, the executive vice-president for scientific and medical affairs for Medicago, said the vaccine appears to produce 10 times the antibodies as are seen in people who have had COVID-19.“It’s very good news,” said Landry.“So based on these results, let’s say we’re quietly confident that we will be in a position to demonstrate good efficacy of the vaccine.” Medicago begins late-stage study of COVID-19 vaccine with GlaxoSmithKline The results are not yet peer-reviewed but Landry said other vaccines in use showed a direct correlation between the level of antibodies

Canada’s COVID-19 cases continue to plunge, but some provinces still struggling
COVID-19 case counts are continuing to fall to levels not seen since March, as provinces further expand vaccine eligibility to all adults and public health restrictions appear to be finally turning the tide.Yet the feeling that the third wave has crested is not being felt in all parts of the country, as some provinces are still dealing with high infection rates and are struggling with straining intensive care units. The 4,586 new cases reported Monday was the lowest national daily count since March 29, right before infections surged to record levels in mid-April.
