Planning to travel this summer? Here’s what you should know
A “one-dose summer” — as touted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — is in the cards for Canada, with more than half the Canadian population having received at least a single shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. As provinces look ahead to easing COVID-19 restrictions over the coming months, summertime travel is possible, but the demand is low, travel experts say. ‘There’s a lot of pent-up demand’ — Is it time to book your post-COVID-19 travel? “There is no panic to get anything booked for the summer,” said Richard Vanderlubbe, president of Tripcentral.ca.A travel advisory is still in effect, with the government urging against non-essential trips.

Government issues guidelines for diabetes management in covid-19 patients
New Delhi: With cases of mucormycosis or black fungus being reported among covid-19 patients with uncontrolled diabetes, the Union health ministry has come up with a clinical guidance on the diagnosis and management of diabetes among covid-19 patients.People suffering from diabetes can be affected with hyperglycemia or high blood glucose, which may put them at further risk of black fungus. The government has therefore directed that covid-19 patients with a history of diabetes should be monitored and treated accordingly in hospitals.“Screen every patient at admission for hyperglycemia with at least two capillary blood glucose values (1 pre-meal and 1 post-meal value) by a glucometer.

Matt Hancock said there was “plenty of good reasons” to give covid jabs to teenagers after medical regulators announced the Pfizer vaccine had been approved for use for those 12 to 15-year-olds. Previously the jab was only approved for use in all adults over the age of 18 and unpaid carers or clinically vulnerable people aged 16 and 17.Nicola Sturgeon said last week the announcement made her "heart sing" but a final decision on whether to extend the vaccination programme to those under-16 has yet to be made.
