Ten nurses have been suspended by their workplace after refusing to treat coronavirus patients without being given masks. The group of healthcare workers at Providence Saint John's Health Centre in Santa Monica, California, banded together in protest after hospital administrators reportedly told staff the N95 masks aren't necessary and would not be provided.

N95 masks filter out 95% of airborne particles and lower the risk of contracting Covid-19, and are an essential component of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medics who are exposed to the virus at work all day.
