One area of Bolton has registered almost no coronavirus cases on the latest figures, despite the town having the highest rate of infection in the country.Westhoughton has consistently seen fewer new cases than other parts of the borough and has not been impacted as heavily by the rise in new infections over the last few weeks.But, according to the latest data for Middle Super Output Areas (MSOA), the Westhoughton West area of Bolton is the only place to record less than two new cases of Covid-19.MSOAs are sections of a town that are split to include populations of roughly 7,000 people.

They are used by Public Health England to chart rises in the infection rate in specific parts of the country.The latest figures, which relate to the week.
