Three areas in northern England are recording the highest spikes in coronavirus rates. Hull, in east Yorkshire is now recording the biggest week-on-week jump, with infection rates are up from 318.7 to 543.2, with 1,411 new cases.
It is followed by North East Lincolnshire, where the case rates rose from 382.9 to 555.9, with 887 new cases. Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeing the third-highest spike, as rates increase from 298.2 to 447.3, with 579 new cases.
Today's data records rates in areas of England by local authority up to Monday, November 2. It will be some days yet before the data starts showing the virus rates recorded during the initialy days of the new, four-week lockdown.
