Three abandoned babies have broken hearts after it emerged their surrogate mums had vanished due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The infants were born to three mums who were reportedly paid £10,000, but they were unable to deliver them to their families due to travel restrictions.

Two baby boys and a girl were left without their parents, amid suspicion they were due to be exported - or smuggled - to China from Russia.

One theory is that the babies’ biological fathers are three gay men who were unable to travel to collect them due to pandemic travel curbs.

The children were born in Russia in April to surrogate mothers from Kazakhstan, who are now believed to have vanished after returning to their home country.
