A toll bridge that charges 12p each way has reopened - despite concerns it could pose a coronavirus risk. Images taken on Monday show two people working inside the toll booth at Warburton Bridge, in Cheshire.
The workers can be seen wearing facemasks and gloves but, due to the size of the tiny booth, appear to be closer than two metres apart - the recommended distance for social distancing.
Peel Ports, which runs the toll booth, says a 'cup and stick system' is being used so drivers can deposit cash at the booth.
They insist that they are following medical guidance from Public Health England but say the government guidance for returning to work recognises that keeping people two metres apart may not always be possible.
