Tougher Covid-19 restrictions possible if social distancing not observed, says Harris

Minister for Health Simon Harris has warned that tougher restrictions on movement will be introduced, if people do not heed advice about social distancing to try to fight Covid-19.

The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet this week to consider if further restrictions are required. Yesterday evening health authorities confirmed that a fourth person with Covid-19 has died while Northern Ireland officials confirmed its second death.

The Department of Health said there were 121 new cases of the virus - an increase of slightly more than 15% on Saturday's figures. Read:More coronavirus stories There are now 906 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the state, which is an increase of 15.4% on yesterday's figures.
