U2 donates €10 million for safety equipment to help Irish Healthcare Workers

Much of the conversation around the health and safety of our healthcare workers during the fight against coronavirus has been around getting the personal protective equipment to keep them safe.

However, with shortages worldwide, and shipments arriving from China with the wrong specifications, there has been a delay. Stepping up to lend their support, U2 has donated €10 million to support Irish healthcare workers and help to bring in the supplies needed.

A spokeswoman for the band confirmed the donation and the money will be spent to source and buy personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline staff.
