The UK's coronavirus death toll has lifted by two in the last 24 hours in the lowest Monday rise since lockdown began. The total number of people who have lost their lives to Covid-19 now stands at 41,501.
Both people who died with the virus were in England. The figure totals deaths across all settings, including in hospitals, care homes and the wider community.
A further 1,406 people have also tested positive for the virus, as of Bank Holiday Monday, according to new figures. The UK reported one coronavirus death on Sunday.
But the country's new recorded cases rose by 1,175. Last Monday, four people died with coronavirus across the UK. On Monday August 17, three died, on August 10 eight died, and on August 3 nine lost their lives.
