The UK's coronavirus death rate has risen by 397 in the lowest Saturday toll in weeks and 82 fewer than last week. Another 15,539 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
A total 344 died in England, 42 in Wales, 22 in Scotland, and seven in Northern Ireland. The figure tallies deaths across all settings including hospitals, care homes, and the wider community.
It comes as the UK prepares to roll out the first mass Covid-19 vaccine programme with Pfizer and BioNTech's shots will be ready for use within days The previous Saturday November 21 daily death toll stood at 341, and on November 14 it totalled 462.
