There have now been more than 450 number of deaths in the UK from coronavirus, the Department of Health has said. NHS England said that a further 28 people – aged between 47 and 93 – have died after testing positive for coronavirus in England.
It brings the total UK death toll from the virus to 463, up from 422 on Tuesday. The 47-year-old who passed away did not have an underlying health condition.
The others who died, including one person aged 93, did have underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.
The total of confirmed reported deaths in England now stands at 414. More than 90,000 people have now been tested in the UK, with around 5,000 tests currently carried out each day.
