The UK coronavirus death toll has increased by 82 in the first toll below 100 since October. It was a drop from 158 deaths reported in all settings on Saturday and a 42 per cent drop from last Sunday's death toll of 144.
New cases totalled 5,177 compared to Saturday's 6,040, government data showed. It brings the total to 4,218,520. Government data up to March 6 shows that of the 23,335,514 jabs given in the UK so far, 22,213,112 were first doses - a rise of 416,834 on the previous day.
Some 1,122,402 were second doses, an increase of 31,562. There was a delay on publishing today's tragic death toll due to "processing issues".
