The UK's coronavirus death toll has risen by ten in the last 24 hours. That puts Wednesday's official overall toll across all settings including hospitals, care homes, and the community at 41,514.
NHS England reported seven deaths, Scotland reported its first fatality in more than week, and Northern Ireland confirmed two new fatalities.
Wales reported no new deaths in the past 24 hours. All ten died in the UK's hospitals. And the number of cases has risen by 1,508, with the seven-day rolling average continuing to slowly increase.
On Tuesday, the UK-wide toll rose by three. Compared to previous Wednesdays in lockdown, the figure rose by 16 on August 26, and by one on August 19, and by seven on August 12.
