Scottish Government announces 17 deaths and 2,515 covid cases in last 24 hours
Scottish Government has confirmed that 17 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, The latest figures for Scotland showed 2,515 new cases had also been identified overnight.It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 8,648.There are currently 965 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 66 being treated in intensive care.The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at 568,916.To date 4,199,724 people have received their first vaccination with 3,843,000 having a second jab. It comes as concerns have been raised about the launch of the NHS covid vaccine passport application in Scotland.
