Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said there remains a "possibility" of the 2020 All-Ireland football and hurling championships being played behind closed doors.
The government today announced that the current restrictions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic will be extended until 18 May while introducing a five-phase road map for how Irish society and the economy will slowly reopen.
According to the roadmap, GAA and soccer teams will be allowed resume activities from 20 July, but only where limitations are placed on the numbers of spectators and where social distancing can be maintained.
