A 12-year-old girl who escaped from her captor and was found walking along an Alabama road on Monday morning successfully led police to discover two decomposing bodies in a rural residence, officials said.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is fighting for his life after police say an intruder opened fire inside his family home as they slept Wednesday morning.The 20-year-old was found heavily bleeding in his when police responded to a house on the 800 block of North 43rd Street around 2 a.m.His family reportedly told police that someone entered their home, shot the man inside his third-floor bedroom, then fled.Police say nine people currently live in the home, including five children ages 5 to 15. They were all reportedly asleep on the second and third floors when the shooting rang out.Six spent shell casing were found inside the bedroom of the victim, who is said to be in critical condition after suffering several gunshot wounds.No one else was injured during the invasion shooting.

PHILADELPHIA - Two people were struck by gunfire as they stood inside a SEPTA station stairwell early Wednesday morning.Police say a man and woman were in a white van when they opened fire on the Arrott Transportation Center near Frankford Avenue around 12:20 a.m.Two men, who were in the stairwell at the time, were both shot.

Carrie, a SEPTA employee for the last 16 years, succumbed to his injuries and died days later. "I hope they find this person. It harbors on your heart to lose someone.

Two men critical after West Philadelphia double shooting. PHILADELPHIA - Two men are in critical condition, and three men are on the run after shots were fired in a daytime shooting, according to Philadelphia police.Both victims were reportedly shot multiple times on the 5200 block of Harlan Street around 1:29 p.m.

ABSECON, N.J. - Prosecutors in New Jersey shared body camera footage that shows a non-fatal officer-involved shooting in May that happened in the parking lot of a dollar store. Officers from the Pleasantville Police Department were called to the Dollar General on South New Road around 9:30 a.m.

DALLAS - Testimony began Tuesday in the capital murder trial of a former fugitive on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.Yaser Said is accused of the murders of his teenage daughters in 2008. Police say a man is dead after he was shot multiple times in the chest on Tuesday night in West Philadelphia. PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating two separate shootings that left a man dead in West Philadelphia and a woman dead in Frankford on Tuesday night.At around 7:31 p.m., police say they responded to the 5400 block of Pearl Street where they found a 30-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Authorities say the victim was transported to Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:44 p.m. Officials say they also responded to the 1800 block of Harrison Street at around 8:14 p.m.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Just a few weeks ago, FOX 29's JoAnn Pileggi was in Atlantic City, talking with the manager of Tony's Baltimore Grill, Joe Palumbo, about the recent theft that left the pizza shop without its new outdoor furniture. The theft, which occurred less than 50 yards from the police station, would be considered a small case for Atlantic City police, so the owners of Tony's tried their own incentive. The historic pizza joint, located on Atlantic Avenue was offering a big reward for anyone who returned the furniture. Wade Wilson DOVER, Del. - A man is in custody after allegedly leading police on a chase that ended with one trooper being dragged alongside a stolen car.The incident began when police responded to reports of a stolen Ford Crown Victoria on Webbs Lane in Dover Monday afternoon.Police say the suspect, identified as Wade Wilson, refused commands and drove off, dragging a trooper until they hit a tree.The car came to a stop after colliding with a sign, which is when police say Wilson fled on foot.He was apprehended later that evening and charged with assault, reckless endangering, receiving stolen property over $1,500 and resisting arrest with force or violence.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Seventeen suspects are off the streets thanks to the actions of concerned citizens groups, according to Atlantic City police.All 17 men are accused of attempting to lure children.

PHILADELPHIA - A law firm has filed a lawsuit against Wawa Inc., the owner of a strip mall and a security company, in connection with the fatal Valentine's Day stabbing of a beloved Philadelphia man. Kline & Specter filed the lawsuit on behalf of the mother of Roger Segal, 49, who died after being stabbed in the parking lot on South Columbus Boulevard in South Philadelphia on February 14. A police source told FOX 29 that video surveillance showed Segal entering the Wawa around 2 a.m. before returning to his car with food 20 minutes after. Police later responded to the location after a customer reported a man might be sleeping in his car, but when officers arrived on scene, they found Segal stabbed once in the stomach. According to authorities, Segal's car engine was still running and his foot was still pressed firmly on the brake. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced the arrest of 55-year-old Walter Robbins in connection with the fatal stabbing months later in May.

PHILADELPHIA - A house where more than 150 one-gallon jugs filled with gasoline were found has caught on fire - the second time in the past several months.The jugs were reportedly found when police were called to the 100 block of North 59th Street Monday for complaints of a strong smell of gas.Upon entering the abandoned West Philadelphia home, officials say 154 one-gallon milk jugs full of gasoline were piled inside.On Tuesday morning, fire crews responded to the same home for a reported fire.SkyFOX was live over the scene where firefighters could be seen working on the scorched home, as well as its neighbor.FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports that the jugs were safely removed from house Monday night.This is reportedly the second time a fire has broken out inside the house.

SELMA, Calif - A group of dogs escaped from a home in central California and mauled to death a 59-year-old man who was out on a walk, authorities said.Selma police officers responding to a call Sunday afternoon in a residential part of the city found someone trying to separate the dogs from the victim, the police department said in a statement. Police and animal control officers captured and quarantined the dogs.The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Arnold DiBlasi, 71 BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. - Officials say a 71-year-old man was arrested after he was found with thousands of child sexual abuse materials.Arnold DiBlasi, of Marlton, is charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.DiBlasi, the former youth director at Holy Eucharist Parish in Cherry Hill, reportedly distributed more than 11,000 files of child sexual abuse material to 30 people.He was arrested at his home on July 26 after an investigation began in May.

DENVER, Col. - A wealthy dentist accused of fatally shooting his wife in the heart with a shotgun at the end of an African safari was found guilty of murder and mail fraud on Monday.A jury of six men and six women reached the verdict for Lawrence "Larry" Rudolph following a three week trial and a day and a half of deliberations.Rudolph, 67, was charged with foreign murder in the 2016 death of Bianca Rudolph in Zambia as well as mail fraud for cashing in $4.8 million in life insurance claims in what prosecutors describe as a premeditated crime. Some of the money was paid out of Colorado so he was tried in Denver federal court.He faces a maximum term of life in prison or the death penalty when he is sentenced in February.Rudolph maintained his innocence and the two adult children he had with his wife sat in court to support him during the trial.

PHILADELPHIA - Homicide detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting in Hunting Park. According to authorities, officers received a 911 call for gunshots and a shooting just before midnight on the 3800 block of N Fairhill Street. Police say a 32-year-old man was found lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his back and leg. Medics pronounced him dead at 12:06 a.m., authorities say. Chief Inspector Scott Small says seven spent shell casings were found a few feet away from the victim. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESInvestigators believe the shooter was standing very close to the 32-year-old, according to officials. Police say two unattended parked cars were also struck by gunfire. According to authorities, a witness said three people wearing masks pulled up, walked to the victim and one of them shot the victim multiple times. The trio then got back in the car and fled north on the 3800 block of N Fairhill Street, per officials. Police say the investigation is active and ongoing. 

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia is set to receive millions in federal money to address flood concerns nearly a year after the remnants of Hurricane Ida made the Vine Street Expressway into a river. Interstate 676, known locally as the Vine Street Expressway, quickly filled with water when the Schuylkill River overflowed into the city last September. Videos of people kayaking and tubing down the transient waterway quickly filled social media; one man was even spotted backflipping off an overpass into the water. "I looked out and I couldn’t see the street signs, that’s how high the water was," Barbara Krassenstein recalled.

NORCO, Calif. - The owner of a store that was targeted by would-be robbers turned the tables on one of the suspects by opening fire on him in Norco.Authorities said that at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, four male suspects in a black BMW SUV attempted to rob Norco Market & Liquor, located in the 2800 block of Clark Avenue.Surveillance video obtained by FOX 11 shows a male suspect wearing a red and black sweatshirt and a ski mask entering the store before he points a rifle at the store owner who was behind the counter.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a young man was shot to death Monday afternoon in Philadelphia's Frankford section. Investigators say the 19-year-old victim arrived at Frankford-Torresdale Hospital with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen. The unnamed victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, according to police. Investigators believe the victim was fatally shot on the 4700 block of Frankford Avenue around 3:30 p.m. No arrests were reported immediately following the deadly shooting. 

(FOX 9) - The man accused of a stabbing that killed a teenager and injured four others has been charged with murder, according to court documents. Nicolae Miu, 52, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, is charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 17-year-old Isaac Schuman of Stillwater, Minnesota, and four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide in connection to the Saturday afternoon incident. The four injured victims, a 24-year-old woman from Burnsville, Minnesota, a 20-year-old and 22-year-old male from Luck, Wisconsin, and a 22-year-old male from Elk River, Minnesota, are in stable condition. Their injuries range from serious to critical with stab wounds to their torsos and chest areas, officials said in a news release Sunday.

The head of a snake popping out of a bag of popcorn inside a Virginia grocery store.  (Kimberly Slaughter)A Virginia woman's trip to the grocery store took an unexpected turn on Thursday when she was startled by a snake in her shopping cart. Kimberly Slaughter was inside a Shoppers Value store in Lunenburg County, Virginia when she saw what she believed to be mouse feces inside of her shopping cart, WTVR reported. "I was like, I'm not getting that bag," Slaughter told the news outlet. "So I put it on the bottom shelf because there was already mouse poop covering the bottom shelves."Slaughter, who said she noticed rodent traps on the bottom shelf, went to grab another grab of popcorn and saw that it had a small hole in the top right corner. PENNSYLVANIA MAN DIES AFTER BEING SUFFOCATED BY PET BOA CONSTRICTOR THAT WAS SHOT BY POLICEWhen Slaughter went to put the bag in her cart to take up to the front because it couldn’t be sold, she discovered a snake inside."The thing had popped out, and you know, I was like, oh, well, hi!" Slaughter said.A North Carolina woman who found a snake with two heads in her house decided to find it a home.She explained that when she brought the cart to the front of the store the snake emerged from the bag and slithered around before returning inside the bag. "It was the full length of the cart," Slaughter, who says friends told her she encountered a rat snake, said.

LINCOLN, Del. - Delaware State Police has launched an investigation after a man was found dead in Lincoln. According to police, the department's homicide unit began investigating on Sunday morning. Officials say troopers responded to the area of Staytonville Road near North Union Church Road for a report of a "subject lying near the roadway." Troopers arrived on scene and found an unknown man dead, according to authorities. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe man has not yet been identified and the investigation is ongoing, police say. Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact Detective Bluto at 302-741-2859. 

YREKA, Calif. - Two people were found dead inside a car in a driveway in Siskiyou County, the sheriff announced Monday, as crews were battling California's largest wildfire in Northern California's Klamath National Forest. The sheriff tweeted that the pair were found along Doggett Creek Road near Highway 96, west of the Klamath River. No other details were released. The McKinney Fire has been burning out of control just south of the Oregon state line, said U.S.

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - Conflicting reports have led to an investigation after a three-year-old boy was reportedly shot in Chester County this weekend.Police say the child suffered a single gunshot to the torse while inside a parked car at the Caln Plaza Shopping Center around 11:45 a.m. Saturday.The shot was fired from a 9mm handgun, which was recovered at the scene.The boy was transported to a local hospital in critical condition after his father 23-year-old Jameer Walker called for help, according to police.

DALLAS - Dallas police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man who investigators said was killed after shooting a woman in the neck, before the bullet exited and hit him in the leg.The shooting happened just after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, in the 2200 block of Medical District.Responding officers found a large amount of blood and a blood trail in front of an apartment, but didn’t find anyone inside the apartment.READ MORE: Dallas homeowner fatally shot suspect who was 'harassing' neighborhood, police saidA call then came in at a nearby hospital about a man and woman with gunshot wounds who were found in a vehicle.

PHILADELPHIA - A double shooting in North Philadelphia has reportedly left a woman in extremely critical condition and a man injured.Police say the 23-year-old woman was sitting in her car on the 2100 block of North Darien Street when she was shot twice in the head around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.She was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she is said to be in extremely critical condition.A man who was standing next the woman's car was also reportedly shot.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J. - A fatal shooting is under investigating after it ended with a car crashing into a home early Sunday morning.Police say the shooting happened around midnight on the 1100 block of East Elmer Road in Cumberland County.The victim died as a result of the shooting, according to police.A car also reportedly crashed into a home nearby where the shooting took place.The identity of the victim has to be released, and no information regarding a motive was given.The shooting is under investigation. 

SOMERSET, Wis. (FOX 9) - Police say a 52-year-old man from Minnesota went on a stabbing spree while tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon, killing a 17-year-old boy, who was also from Minnesota, and critically injuring four other people. The suspect was not previously known to local law enforcement and is currently in custody at the St. Croix County Jail, pending charges, Knudson said.
