"Covid-19 is a terrible thing to have" says John Knowles from Clonee in Dublin, who understands this more than most. He is currently recovering from this virus, after being diagnosed on Easter Sunday.
After spending two stints in ICU and also being treated in a high dependency unit, he has since been discharged to a step-down facility at Clontarf Hospital for rehabilitation.
John is still having difficulty with breathing problems, but says he is now being looked after by physiotherapists. Before Covid-19, Clontarf Hospital would mainly have dealt with older patients and orthopedic care, for example rehabilitation for people after suffering a fall.
