Visitors have been banned from almost all hospitals in Greater Manchester to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. At first, hospital trusts restricted the number of people who could visit patients.
Now more stringent measures have been introduced as the number of COVID-19 cases in the region continues to rise. Salford Royal, North Manchester General, Fairfield General, Rochdale Infirmary, the Royal Oldham Hospital, Stepping Hill Hospital and the Royal Bolton have all suspended visiting hours.
Exceptions will only be made for people visiting dying patients, birthing partners, appropriate adults and people accompanying children.
