This morning's HSE briefing will focus on the return to schools as well as the daily Covid-19 outbreak. Today's briefing is being held at DCU's campus in Glasnevin.
The number of hospitalised Covid-19 cases is 28 as of this morning. The HSE CEO Paul Reid says this is of concern as the number has been rising, but the number of patients in ICU has dropped.
He said that in the last seven days the average number of new cases is 104 per day. The 14-day notification day for Ireland is 27.5 per 100,000.
Mr Reid said said there is a plan being prepared in the health service that will go beyond the normal "plan for winter", amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
