It could be wise to wear glasses instead of contact lenses during the coronavirus pandemic. The NHS has warned the public to avoid touching their faces – as this could lead to the spread of COVID-19.
This includes the eye area, so it’s probably not wise to be taking contacts in and out. Dr Sonal Tulsi recommends using glasses instead.
This is because they are less likely to aggravate your eyes or make you rub them. The expert from the American Academy of Ophthalmology told ABC13: “Substituting glasses for lenses can decrease irritation and force you to pause before touching your eye”.
