The head of the World Health Organization has said an international mission the agency is organising to travel to China to investigate the origin of the coronavirus would go to Wuhan, where the first infections were detected late last year.
Director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also said an advance team that went to the Chinese capital Beijing in July had been in touch with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The WHO also reiterated its advice today that, if feasible, people exposed to Covid-19 should be tested even if they do not show immediate symptoms of infection.
