Why a little girl from Wrexham is cycling more than 40 miles for nurses in Salford

A nine-year-old girl has challenged herself to riding 70km - around 43 miles - on her bike to raise money for the NHS. Tabitha Kannreuther only learned to ride a bike during lockdown and decided to use her newfound skill to do a sponsored bike ride for nurses at Salford Royal Hospital.

Tabitha, who lives with her parents, sister, dog, cat and chickens on the Welsh-English border in Wrexham, took it upon herself to cycle 10km a day after being struck by the work of the NHS since the coronavirus outbreak.

The little girl had heard 'harrowing stories' from the brave daughter of a family friend, who is a critical care unit nurse at Salford Royal, and set her heart on raising £200 for the hardworking medical staff.
