Son Heung-min’s military service back home in South Korea will be kept a secret in order to “protect fans and the media’s safety”.
Tottenham’s star forward is a national treasure in South Korea and his military service has expectedly gained much attention.
However, the 27-year-old’s mandatory four-week stint while the football season is suspended won’t be made public. Son has decided now is the time to join the training with the coronavirus crisis having stopped football for the time being.
And his representatives have confirmed the Spurs goalscorer will fully commit to his basic training in South Korea. But it will be completed away from the public eye before he returns to north London, which Son is expected to do in May.
