Hyderabad: The number of coronavirus cases in Telangana shot up on Saturday as 43 more people tested positive for the virus.
The total number of cases in the state now stands at 272. A day earlier, the state witnessed a sharp spike in numbers after 75 people had tested positive on Friday.
According to a media bulletin from the state government, one patient who was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 got discharged on Saturday, with the total number of discharged patients now being 33.
Currently, there are 228 active positive cases in Telangana, and 11 people have died due to the virus so far. As a step to tackle the pandemic, the state government has also turned the state-run Gandhi Hospital into a Covid-19 treatment centre.
