Airdrie hospice to support patients from across Lanarkshire to help health service

St Andrew’s Hospice will accept all acute hospice in-patient admissions from across Lanarkshire during the coronavirus emergency to help create additional healthcare capacity across the county.The Airdrie facility is to look after patients from across the county; while South Lanarkshire counterpart Kilbryde Hospice, located beside Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride, will be providing palliative care for Covid-19 patients.Both hospices have been working closely with NHS Lanarkshire to help “expand acute hospital capacity ahead of Covid-19 cases increasing over the coming weeks and months”.Craig Cunningham of South Lanarkshire health and social care partnership said: “In recognition of the need to plan ahead and expand the availability of
