Several bars in Ancoats have pulled the plug on takeaway alcohol sales after huge crowds gathered in Cutting Room Square this weekend.
Operators have voiced concerns about the apparent lack of social distancing in the area. Over the three-day weekend, footage emerged of groups congregating at the square, drinking alcohol and leaving behind piles of litter.
One of the largest bars on the square, Seven Brothers Beerhouse, has reversed its plans to start selling takeaway pints following the 'rule breaking' over the weekend.
