Two burglars smashed their way into a gym hours after the country was locked down amid the coronavirus pandemic. Christopher Leader, 45, and Thomas Jones, 44, broke into Pure Gym on Bury New Road in Salford in the early hours.
They are thought to have used a rock to smash a window and get inside at around 2.30am on March 24. Hours earlier, Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation and told people to stay at home.
When police arrived, they saw the pair leaving the gym in dark clothing. Both were wearing balaclavas - and each had a crowbar.
