He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan led the charge by hitting out at Dominic Cummings after he delivered his reasoning for flouting the lockdown rules.

The Prime Minister’s chief advisor faced criticism after he travelled from London to Durham, despite his wife showing a number of coronavirus symptoms.

Dominic had also faced backlash for another questionable visit to Barnard Castle last month, with the general public demanding answers.

In the statement today, Mr Cummings denied that he'd broken any rules and refused to apologise, even though he travelled for more than 250 miles across the country with his possibly infected family, later returning to Downing Street.
