'At least 50' turned away at Ayr vaccine centre due to Covid jab shortage

People were turned away from an Ayrshire vaccine centre last night as they queued for their Covid booster. Residents over the age of 50 stood waiting at Ayr Racecourse for almost an hour to be told there were no vaccines left.

It is understood the vaccine centre had prepared to give out 2,000 shots on Monday.One man had an appointment booked at the centre but had to queue on arrival before being sent home.William Browning, 56, arrived for his booster, scheduled for 6pm, but was sent home around 7.50pm.William from Prestwick claims that at least 50 others all queued out into the car park were told to go home.Workers at the centre told William and others waiting that they would have to go to the Troon drop-In centre or re-book their
