Ayrshire families facing hardship due to pandemic given Netflix vouchers for home cinema night

Ayrshire families facing ‘unprecedented difficulties’ during the coronavirus pandemic have been able to enjoy the latest movies thanks to a free cinema experience.Unique boxes packed with a £15 voucher for Netflix, a £10 supermarket voucher, popcorn, sweet treats, healthy snacks and drinks have been distributed out to 75 families helping 90 young people.The boxes came as a welcome boost to families who were stuck in lockdown.

The stay-at-home movie experience was all possible thanks to The Ayr Ark, a youth project which operates at the Citadel in Ayr.Volunteers teamed up with local secondary school Queen Margaret Academy who then ensured the boxes got to their destination.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local.
