Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner has revealed the devastating financial losses the coronavirus pandemic has had on the Catalonian club, with the figure currently standing at £121m.
Postponements to fixtures across the world are known to have had adverse affects on the vast majority of teams, with many clubs handing pay cuts to players and staff, while others have lost their jobs all together.
While smaller clubs have been hit extremely hard, it appears some of the world’s biggest sides have also felt the harsh brunt of the virus.
None more than Spanish giants Barcelona, who have lost €50million (£44m) in ticket sales for matches and its museum, €39million (£34m) in television money and a further £20m from other commercial activities.
