The San Francisco Chronicle (3/24, Bitker) reports that programs meant to help low-income seniors in the Bay Area get access to food are struggling during changes brought about by the coronavirus outbreak.
Before the outbreak, seniors would gather at community halls or pick up food at senior centers and food pantries, but California’s order that all seniors over age 65 stay home has limited such methods, forcing service providers to transition.
