New BBC One drama series The Salisbury Poisonings looks set to have greater relevance due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new three-part drama series will focus on the 2018 novichok poisoning of former Russian military intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury.

The plot of the drama will follow the public health response to the health crisis, centring primarily on Tracy Daszkiewicz, the director of public health at Wiltshire Council.

His Dark Materials actress Anne-Marie Duff portrays Daszkiewicz in the show who, according to writers Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn, is fighting "a lethal and invisible enemy that has appeared out of nowhere".
