BBC Top Gear announces details about when filming will begin for new series

TV fans were devastated in March when it was announced that a rack of their favourite programmes had stopped production. The coronavirus crisis and the government’s lockdown restrictions, such as social distancing, meant that the TV and film industry - like the rest of the UK - had to grind to a halt.

Best-loved BBC shows including Line Of Duty, Peaky Blinders and Call the Midwife ceased filming, while the broadcaster reduced the frequency of weekly EastEnders episodes.

Over at ITV the story was the same - both Coronation Street and Emmerdale halved their output in a bid not to run out of episodes during lockdown.
