Greater Manchester's coronavirus death toll rises again but nine trusts report no new deaths

Two more people have died in hospital after contracting coronavirus in Greater Manchester. New NHS England figures bring the region's death toll to 1,745.

While the number of lives lost to the virus has risen again, some hospital NHS trusts have reported new no new deaths. Salford Royal recorded one more coronavirus-related death, as did Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The other nine NHS hospital trusts reported no new deaths in its 24 hourly data. The total number of fatalities caused by COVID-19 in the wider community, including care homes, is likely to be much higher.
