NEW YORK – An influential group behind the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement has established a fund worth more than $12 million to aid organizations fighting institutional racism, in the wake of the George Floyd protests.On Wednesday, the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation said it was setting aside $6 million from money it received in donations to support black-led grassroots organizing groups.

Last week, the foundation unveiled a separate $6.5 million fund for its network of affiliate chapters.Beginning July 1, affiliated chapters can apply for unrestricted funding of up to $500,000 in multi-year grants, the foundation announced.

"As of 2021, agave-based spirits are the third largest spirits category in the US, behind vodka and whisky. Agave spirits are set to continue on their growth path, fueled by a mix of drivers, including authenticity, product diversity and consumer engagement," according to IWSR which analyzes and tracks alcohol trends. Americans’ consumption of tequila rose 30% between 2015 and 2020, according to IWSR. Tequila also drove industry growth, accounting for nearly one-third of the total increase in spirits revenue, according to the Distilled Spirits Council.

Mother of Trayvon Martin joins Miami protesters seeking racial justice, police support

MIAMI – The mother of Trayvon Martin joined hundreds of demonstrators at a rally in downtown Miami on Sunday, demanding racial equality following the death of George Floyd last month at the hands of a white police officer in Minnesota.Sybrina Fulton joined the demonstrators who carried signs that read “Stop Killing Us" and “We Are All Equal" at the Torch of Friendship, a 60-year-old monument erected as a welcoming beacon to the city’s Latin American and Caribbean neighbors. The protest organized by several churches was one of several across Florida on Sunday.Fulton's unarmed son, Trayon Martin, was killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman, while walking back from a central Florida convenience store in 2012.

Sofia Richie is making sure her voice is heard. The 21-year-old, who recently split from longtime boyfriend, Scott Disick, gathered with friends to march in a protest for All Black Lives Matter in Los Angeles on June 14. She held up a sign that read “Racism stops at my generation.” Her friends’ signs said, “Love is love,” in reference to Pride Month, and, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
