Health and beauty giant Boots has confirmed that is planning to close 60 of its UK stores - despite being classed as an 'essential' retailer.
Most of the affected stores are in areas like airports and retail parks where there is virtually no footfall at the moment. Amongst the stores affected are Boots in the Trafford Centre and Boots in The Peel Centre, Stockport.
In a statement about the decision to close some of its stores, Boots said: "We need to make sure that we have enough colleagues playing their vital role where it’s currently most needed and that we can send home those colleagues who are working in stores that are not busy. "To achieve this, we are temporarily closing a small number of stores that are very quiet at this time." Yo
