Boris Johnson responded to a question over his habit of making unrealistic promises by promising the world will be ‘better by Easter.’ The Prime Minister has frequently drawn criticism for over-promising about the government’s response to the Covid-19 epidemic.
In March, he said the UK could “turn the tide” of the virus in 12 weeks. And he said he was “absolutely confident that we can send coronavirus packing in this country.” And he said antibody tests could be the "game changer”.
In July he said he hoped there would be a “more significant return to normality" by Christmas. In September he said the ‘moonshot’ mass testing programme was an "alternative plan which could allow life to return to closer to normality" - again by Christmas.
